14 years volunteering for the orangutans of Borneo and Sumatra.
I am Alison Bristo, the volunteer behind Orangutan Futures. For 14 years I have given my time to orangutan charities, and since 2012 I have been giving talks for local groups and schools to share what I have learned and to raise funds.
Every two years I travel to Borneo and Sumatra to volunteer at rehabilitation centres for orangutans. I have recently returned from the Borneo Orangutan Society and the Samboja Lestari orangutan centre, my fourth time supporting these projects on the ground.
All the money I have raised so far has gone straight to the projects. My aim now is to expand, to give many more talks and presentations, and to reach large companies across the UK who want to help.
My experience, knowledge and commitment are huge, and I am proud of the reputation I have built. If you would like me to speak to your school, group or company, I would be delighted to hear from you.
